On Thursday 26 February 2026, Andrius Kubilius, European Commissioner for Defence and Space, undertook a working visit to Luxembourg, during which he took part in the GovSatCom Luxembourg conference.
During his visit, Andrius Kubilius met with Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden at the Ministry of State for a working meeting, along with Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, responsible for Media and Connectivity, Elisabeth Margue.
Andrius Kubilius also met with Luxembourg Minister of Defence, Yuriko Backes, who received the European Commissioner with military honours at Senningen Castle. During a working lunch, they discussed major current issues and European Union defence policies related to the international security environment.
Commissioner Kubilius then received an audience with Grand Duke Guillaume at the Grand Ducal Palace before his trip concluded with a visit to SES’s headquarters in Betzdorf.
