On Thursday 30 April 2026, the College of Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) hosted an official reception in honour of Eva Marija, who will represent Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2026 in Vienna.
According to VdL, the reception took place in the presence of Eva Marija’s family and friends, as well as her former teachers from the Conservatoire of the City of Luxembourg, who played a key role in her artistic development.
During the reception, Luxembourg City Mayor Lydie Polfer praised the young artist’s journey and commitment: “Eva Marija’s path perfectly illustrates the richness of Luxembourg’s cultural scene and the importance of artistic education. We are proud to see her represent Luxembourg on such a prestigious international stage as Eurovision.”
In 2003, her parents emigrated to Luxembourg, where she was born in 2005. Showing an early interest in music, she pursued her training at the Conservatoire of the City of Luxembourg, where she received nearly ten years of musical education combining classical training with a final specialisation in jazz and rock-pop.
In 2022, Eva Marija also took part in the Future Talent Stage, an initiative organised annually by the City of Luxembourg, which aims to offer emerging young musicians the opportunity to present their musical universe and perform in front of industry professionals.
Since then, Eva Marija has continued her artistic journey internationally. In 2026, she is in her final year of songwriting studies at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in London, where she is further developing her musical and stage writing while strengthening her artistic identity.
VdL added that members of the College of Aldermen and the Municipal Council extended their best wishes to Eva Marija for her participation in the ESC semi-final on Thursday 14 May 2026 in Vienna, where she will represent Luxembourg with her song “Mother Nature”.
