The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a traffic accident involving a minor occurred in the early hours of Sunday 3 May 2026.
According to the police, the boy had taken his mother's car without permission. He reportedly left his home in Contern during the night and drove off in the vehicle.
Shortly after midnight, he collided with a traffic sign on Route de Remich. He told the authorities that, following an argument with his mother, he had decided to travel to visit relatives in Belgium.
The boy was not injured in the accident but was taken to the CHL Kannerklinik (children's hospital) for examination. His mother was informed of the incident and also went to the hospital to be with her son.
The police filed an accident report.
