The Grand Ducal Police have reported several arrests carried out between Friday 1 and Monday 4 May 2026, relating to drug offences, an attempted burglary and the display of a weapon.
According to initial information, at around 09:30 on Friday, during a patrol on the cycle path in Rue de la Gare in Schieren, officers observed a person smoking a joint. A subsequent check revealed that the individual was carrying a knife and a small quantity of hashish. Based on prior knowledge of the person’s connections to drug dealers and a previous conviction for drug trafficking, officers obtained a search warrant for the individual’s residence, where cash and a quantity of hashish were found. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Saturday 2 May 2026.
Later that morning, at around 11:50 on Saturday, a house search was carried out in Avenue Lucien Salentiny in Ettelbruck, following suspicions that drug dealers might be present. Officers encountered five individuals at the scene and seized various drugs, drug paraphernalia, cash and a larger amount of counterfeit money. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, one of the individuals was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and was brought before an investigating judge on the afternoon of Sunday 3 May 2026.
On Sunday afternoon, police were notified of a drug find at a residential address in Op der Knupp in Bettel (Tandel). A patrol dispatched to the scene seized a bag containing cannabis. A subsequent house search at the suspected owner’s residence yielded no further results. The individual was located and, on the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
On the morning of Sunday, at around 08:40, police received a report of a man with a firearm at Place de la Gare in Luxembourg City. Witnesses stated that he had threatened several people with the weapon. The suspect was quickly located and apprehended. An airsoft weapon was seized during the search. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the individual was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
During the night of Monday 4 May, an attempted burglary at a single-family home in Rue Sigefroi in Bettembourg was reported. According to initial information, three suspects attempted to gain access to the house but were surprised by neighbours and fled the scene. The three individuals were apprehended shortly afterwards as part of a search operation. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, they were arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
