The Grand Ducal Police have reported several incidents that occurred on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 May 2026.

On Wednesday afternoon, two men, seemingly heavily intoxicated and causing a disturbance, were reported at the emergency department of a hospital in Luxembourg City. A police patrol went to the scene and found both individuals. As they refused to calm down and did not comply with police instructions, officers placed them in temporary police custody to sober up following a medical examination.

During the night of Wednesday to Thursday, the police were alerted to an injured man on the Haaptstrooss (main street) in Hosingen. A police patrol immediately went to the scene and found the victim. According to initial information, a dispute had broken out in a bar between the victim and an unknown assailant, which escalated into a fight in the street. The assailant then fled the scene. The victim sustained serious injuries and, after receiving initial treatment on-site, was taken to hospital. An immediate search for the suspect was unsuccessful. Further investigations have been initiated.

The police also received a report of a theft on Rue Dominique Lang in Dudelange at around 01:00 on Thursday. According to initial information, three suspects stole a man's mobile phone from his jacket pocket. An immediate search for the perpetrators was unsuccessful. Further investigations have been launched.
