The Grand Ducal Police have reported that three driving licences were revoked as a result of drink-driving offences which took place across Luxembourg in the early hours of Sunday 7 June 2026.
At approximately 03:57 on Sunday, the police were notified of a vehicle in the Knuedler car park in the Luxembourg-Ville that was apparently having difficulty leaving the facility. In the process, the driver struck a concrete pillar and a sign with the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and its driver in the car park. A breath alcohol test was carried out and returned a positive result. The driver's licence was confiscated and a report was drawn up.
Then, at approximately 04:24 on Sunday, a police patrol observed a vehicle being driven erratically on Avenue de la Liberté in Niederkorn. The vehicle was stopped for a check. A breath alcohol test carried out on the driver returned a positive result. A driving ban was issued.
A short time later, at approximately 04:45 on Sunday, a police patrol came across a vehicle on Rue de Belval in Esch-sur-Alzette that had been improperly parked on the pavement and left with its engine running. The driver was standing beside the vehicle on the passenger side, while the passenger was asleep inside. As the driver was clearly under the influence of alcohol, a breath alcohol test was conducted. The result was positive and the driver's licence was confiscated.
