On Friday 10 July 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that three driving licences were revoked overnight following drink-driving incidents in Luxembourg-Weimerskirch, Helmsange and near Luxembourg-Hollerich.

According to the police, during the early hours of Friday 10 July, at around 00:40, the police were informed of a traffic accident involving two vehicles on Rue de Neudorf in Luxembourg-Weimerskirch. According to initial information, a collision occurred between a moving car and a parked vehicle. A police patrol located the driver involved in the accident at the scene. The driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. The alcohol test returned a positive result and the driver’s licence was confiscated. The driver was taken to hospital for medical checks. An accident report was drawn up.

Later, at around 02:20, the police were informed of vehicle parts (including a number plate) and a damaged tree on Route de Diekirch in Helmsange. A police patrol located the driver concerned shortly afterwards. Her vehicle had sustained several areas of damage. In addition, the driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. As she refused to undergo an alcohol test, her driving licence was withdrawn and a provisional driving ban was issued. An accident report was also drawn up.

Moreover, at around 03:40, a police patrol on the A4 motorway towards Luxembourg-Hollerich noticed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. The officers subsequently decided to stop and check the driver. As the driver was clearly under the influence of alcohol, she was required to take an alcohol test. The test returned a positive result and a provisional driving ban was issued.
