On Saturday 18 July 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported several arrests across Luxembourg, which took place in the last 24 hours, involving suspected drug offences, shoplifting and the breach of a court-ordered exclusion order.
At around 21:30 on Friday 17 July 2026, in Luxembourg-Gare police officers on patrol noticed a group of five people behaving suspiciously upon seeing them. During a subsequent check, officers seized several quantities of drugs, some of which had already been packaged for sale, along with a large amount of cash, a switchblade knife and several mobile phones. The police said it found an individual to be concealing additional drug pellets inside their body. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested before seeing an investigating judge on Saturday afternoon.
In a separate incident at around 01:00 on Saturday, officers intervened after spotting two men involved in an altercation also in Luxembourg-Gare district. Investigations revealed the dispute stemmed from a failed drug deal. During a body search, police recovered drugs wrapped in plastic foil and a mobile phone from one of the suspects, while a rapid drug test also returned a positive result. Following orders from the public prosecutor's office, the man was arrested. A subsequent house search led to the seizure of a large amount of cash, several mobile phones and various items suspected of being used for drug trafficking. The suspect is due to appear before an investigating judge on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, in Bertrange, police were called to a shopping centre at around 13:00 on Friday after a security guard reported a theft from a clothing store. Two suspected offenders were located outside the shop, where officers recovered stolen goods of considerable value. Both men were arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office and brought before an investigating judge.
Police also made an arrest in Esch-sur-Alzette, where a man was taken into custody for allegedly breaching a court-ordered exclusion order. At around 18:30 on Friday, a woman reported that the individual was present at a residential address despite the order prohibiting him from being there. Officers located the suspect following a brief search and took him to the police station. The public prosecutor's office subsequently ordered his arrest, and he was due to appear before an investigating judge on Saturday morning.
