On Tuesday 21 July 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that suspects were apprehended following a burglary at an apartment building in Rodange and after the attempted theft of electric cabling near Roost.
According to the police, at around 12:00 on Monday 20 July, the police were informed of a burglary at an apartment building in Rodange. On site, police officers found that the main entrance door had been forced open. In addition, an electrical cable had been laid from the building’s garden to an adjacent property.
During the course of the investigation, a suspect was located in a neighbouring building. During a search of the suspect, a broken piece of metal was found and seized. Another matching piece had previously been discovered at the damaged entrance door. As there was also an outstanding arrest warrant against the suspect, he was arrested and taken to a detention facility. A report was drawn up.
Then, during the early hours of Tuesday 21 July, a police patrol in the Roost area noticed an individual who fled across a field after seeing the officers. Further individuals were found nearby who also attempted to flee. As part of the search operation, three suspects were apprehended.
During a subsequent inspection of a nearby construction site, it was found that the site’s fence had been cut through, and several electrical cables had been transported to the opening in the fence and placed there ready for removal. A saw and a crowbar were also seized in the vicinity of the crime scene. A report was drawn up.
