The Grand Ducal Police have reported two arrests in connection with separate attacks that took place in Luxembourg City and Hautcharage on Tuesday 28 July 2026.

At around 16:00 on Tuesday, police received a report of an assault outside a medical practice on Avenue Victor Hugo in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg. A woman sustained minor injuries to her arm during the incident.

According to the police, the suspect initially fled towards Hall Victor Hugo but was located shortly afterwards by a police patrol. On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Wednesday 29 July 2026.

Later that day, in the early evening, a woman was attacked by three men outside her home on Avenue de Luxembourg in Hautcharage. According to initial information, one of the suspects forcibly ripped gold chains from the victim's neck and attempted to steal her handbag before the group fled towards the Bommelscheuer industrial zone.

As part of the search operation launched immediately after the incident, one of the suspects was located nearby. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Wednesday morning. The investigation to identify and locate the two remaining suspects is ongoing.
