The City of Luxembourg (VdL) has announced the temporary closure of its education service and childcare service offices and the city's municipal “crèches” (day nurseries) during August and early September 2026.
The education service offices, located at 20 Rue du Commerce in Luxembourg-Gare, will be closed to the public from Monday 3 to Friday 21 August 2026 (inclusive) due to preparations for the 2026-2027 school year.
The service will reopen on Monday 24 August 2026, resuming its usual opening hours of Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 17:00.
Meanwhile, the VdL's childcare service offices, located at 34 Route d'Arlon in Luxembourg-Rollingergrund, together with the city's municipal day nurseries, will be closed to the public from Monday 17 August to Friday 4 September 2026 (inclusive).
The childcare service will reopen on Monday 7 September 2026, with its administrative offices operating Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00, while the municipal day nurseries will resume their usual opening hours of 07:30 to 18:30 on weekdays.
