The Grand Ducal Police have reported two recent burglaries at single-family homes in Heisdorf and Luxembourg-Neudorf, as well as an attempted e-scooter theft in Gasperich.
On Wednesday 12 August 2026, at around 17:45, the police received a report of a burglary at a house on Rue Prince Henri in Heisdorf. According to initial information, a relative discovered the break-in while the residents were away on holiday.
An unknown perpetrator had reportedly forced their way into the house through the terrace door, damaging the shutters in the process. A police report was filed and an investigation launched.
Another burglary was reported on Thursday 13 August 2026 morning at a single-family home on Rue du Kiem in Luxembourg-Neudorf. Unknown perpetrators reportedly gained access to the property and stole several items, including an iPad and a MacBook Pro. The police launched an investigation.
Separately, on Wednesday afternoon, security staff at a shopping centre on Boulevard FW Raiffeisen in Gasperich contacted the police after spotting two individuals allegedly attempting to steal an e-scooter.
The two suspects fled when security staff noticed them, leaving behind a bag, a mobile phone and a pair of pliers, among other items.
Officers launched an immediate search and later located both suspects. A body search uncovered several items, while the public prosecutor's office ordered the confiscation of two mobile phones, and police subsequently filed a report.
