On Friday 28 August 2026, Luxembourg's Grand Ducal Police reported the arrest of a suspect following a theft involving violence in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
At around 19:45 on Thursday 27 August 2026, police received a report of an incident on Rue Alphonse Weicker. According to initial information, a man was approached by two individuals, one of whom touched the victim on the neck and back before striking him in the chest and snatching two necklaces from him. Both suspects then fled the scene.
During a subsequent search, police identified and located the suspected main perpetrator. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
Police said the second suspect is still being sought.
