On Monday 21 September 2026, Luxembourg|s international airport at Findel was once again forced to temporarily suspend flight operations following reports of unauthorised drone activity near Findel, for the second time in just a few days.
According to airport operator Lux-Airport, air traffic was suspended for almost one hour, from 21:38 until 22:30. Several flights were diverted and others faced delays before operations resumed.
The latest incident follows a similar disruption on Friday 18 September 2026, when unidentified and unauthorised drones were sighted in the airspace around Findel, leading to the temporary closure of Luxembourg Airport and the diversion of nineteen flights to other airports. As previously reported, operations resumed at approximately 01:20 on Saturday 19 September 2026 following two safety inspections.
Earlier on Monday, Luxembourg's Interministerial Drone Assessment Unit met to review the weekend's drone sightings. At the time, the situation was considered stable, with authorities continuing to monitor Luxembourg's airspace.
Monday evening's drone sightings are still being investigated.
