On Thursday 8 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported arrests for drug dealing in Esch-sur-Alzette and theft in Luxembourg-Ville.
According to the police, on Wednesday 7 October, police officers observed a suspected drug deal in the area of Rue Zénon Bernard and Rue du Brill in Esch-sur-Alzette. The suspected buyer was stopped a short time later. A small quantity of hashish was found on him and seized.
The suspected seller, who was apprehended shortly afterwards, was then checked. On suspicion of being a drug dealer, he was arrested on the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
During checks, several cocaine pellets were also found on another person who was stopped as part of the operation. A report was drawn up against this person for drug possession.
The arrested suspect was brought before an investigating judge on Thursday morning. The investigation is ongoing.
At around 22:00 on Wednesday 7 October, police were notified of a theft near a bar in Rue des Capucins in Luxembourg City.
According to initial findings, the perpetrator had accosted a man and then stolen his gold chain. A confrontation subsequently broke out between the two individuals.
Officers arriving at the scene apprehended the suspect and found the stolen chain during a subsequent body search.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the man was arrested and appeared before an investigating judge on Thursday morning.
