On Saturday 19 July 2025, Luxembourgish athletes Patrizia van der Weken and Viktoria Rausch secured podium finishes at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting at Stadion De Veen in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium.

The event, known as the Night of Athletics, took place just three days after both athletes competed at a tournament in Liège on Thursday 16 July 2025.

Patrizia van der Weken, who had won the 100m sprint in her previous race, improved her time by 0.13 seconds in Heusden-Zolder. The 25-year-old crossed the finish line in 11.07 seconds, securing second place behind American sprinter Maia McCoy, who clocked 10.97 seconds.

Viktoria Rausch, who had finished fourth in the 100m hurdles earlier that week with a time of 13.24 seconds, returned to the track with a podium finish. The 28-year-old placed third with a slightly slower time of 13.27 seconds, behind Slovenia’s Nika Glojnaric (12.96) and the Netherlands’ Mira Groot (13.25).

Both athletes are expected to compete at Luxembourg's National Championships, scheduled to take place from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 August 2025 at the Athletics National Center in Luxembourg.
