Luxembourg’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture has announced first edition’s “The Good Fork” winners, during a ceremony held on Tuesday 17 March 2026 in The Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art (MUDAM) in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

The competition showcased local initiatives promoting more sustainable food practices. Launched on 16 October 2025, on the occasion of World Food Day, the competition was organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture together with IMS Luxembourg.

According to the ministry, organisers received 20 projects, exceeding expectations and showing growing interest in sustainable food issues. From these, twelve finalists, six in each category, presented their initiatives during an award ceremony.

The public selected two winners. In the category “Food Waste Reduction”, the award went to the Caddy workshop by the Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss, which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable individuals.

In the category “Regional and Seasonal Sourcing”, the prize went to ECOFFEE for its local coffee alternative made from lupin.

Speaking at the event, Martine Hansen, Luxembourg’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, highlighted the importance of such initiatives. She said: “‘The Good Fork’ shows that the transition towards more sustainable food systems is already underway. Each project reflects the innovation and commitment of local actors to more sustainable and accessible food.”

To extend the impact of the competition, organisers have published a brochure presenting all participating projects. It is now available on the ministry’s website and on IMS Luxembourg’s website.

The event aimed at bringing together professionals and an engaged audience, highlighting the role of “The Good Fork” in promoting sustainable practices, encouraging new initiatives and supporting the transition towards more responsible food systems in Luxembourg.
