Luxinnovation: 98 Women (Co-)Founded Startups Active in Luxembourg

On Thursday 5 March 2026, ahead of International Women's Day (8 March), Luxinnovation has published, for the first time, key facts and figures about startups active in Luxembourg that have been (co-)created by women.

Luxinnovation's Market Intelligence team based its analysis on information collected via the Dealroom platform up to early February 2026. The findings identified 98 startups in Luxembourg that are (co-)founded by women, representing 12% of the country's startup ecosystem, which comprises over 820 entities.

"This growth has accelerated significantly over the past three years, with the creation of 35 new startups founded or co-founded by women," commented Mathilde Hampert, Market Intelligence Analyst at Luxinnovation.

These startups have collectively raised €617 million, accounting for 8% of the total funding raised by startups in Luxembourg. However, in terms of the number of funding rounds, startups (co-)created by women represent 21% of the total.

According to Luxinnovation, this indicates that ticket sizes for women-founded startups tend to be smaller. While 51% of (co-)founded startups in Luxembourg successfully secure funding, the average amounts raised are approximately €3 million, compared to an average of €8 million for all startups in the country.

"Although women-founded startups attract capital, they face greater challenges in raising significant sums," noted Tiffany Devresse, Market Intelligence Analyst at Luxinnovation. This trend mirrors global patterns, particularly in deep tech, as highlighted in a 2024 report by Supernovas, as well as a 2025 study conducted by Founders Forum Group.

Women-founded startups in Luxembourg are active across several key sectors, notably healthcare, enterprise software and fintech. Examples include health technology companies such as Hale-X and AutiHD, as well as enterprise software pioneers like Elora and Karimi.

In fintech, notable companies include Moniflo, whose founder Ala Presenti received the "Startup Award" at the Women in Tech Europe Awards 2025, and Fundcraft. The space sector also ranks as the fourth-largest sector represented by women-founded startups, with innovative companies such as WEO and AIRMO.
