Stëmm vun der Strooss has reported that Sodexo Group employees recently raised €1,557.87 for the Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation through the group’s “arrondi sur salaire” (salary rounding) programme.
“Arrondi sur salaire” is an initiative which allows employees to donate the € cents of their monthly salary to an association of their choice. The 2,300 employees of Sodexo Group designated local non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss as their preferred recipient of the money raised.
During the presentation of the cheque from the Sodexo Group, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, Alexandra Oxacelay, said: “Thanks to companies like Sodexo that commit over the long term, we can strengthen our impact on the ground. We hope more organisations will follow this example and join us in the fight against poverty.”
Managing Director of Sodexo, Julien Demoulin, added: “I am proud of our employees’ long-standing commitment to Stëmm vun der Strooss, which works to reintegrate disadvantaged individuals into society and the workforce. Our support for this highly active organisation dates back to 2014.”
According to Sodexo, its employees regularly take the opportunity to volunteer, fully embracing the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy by collecting essential goods, selling chocolate in company restaurants, organising clothing drives, participating in the “Velosoccasiounsmaart” (second-hand bicycle market) and helping with gift-wrapping at Auchan Kirchberg during the holiday season.
