The British-Luxembourg Society (BLS) has announced that it will hold the annual Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Lecture at the Hémicycle in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, set to take place on Thursday 29 October 2026 at 18:30.

Entitled “A New Storm Gathers”, this year's lecture will be delivered by Baroness Catherine Ashton, former European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The event forms part of a series of Winston Churchill memorial lectures organised by the BLS since 1977. The British-Luxembourg Society and its Patrons and Council are organising the 2026 edition together with the Fondation Nationale de la Résistance (FONARES).

Doors will open at 18:00, with the lecture beginning at 18:30, followed by a reception. The event is free of charge and has a capacity of 300 people. According to the organisers, 110 people had already registered.
