On Wednesday 22 April 2026, the Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg announced that applications are now open for the MEXT scholarship programme for Luxembourgish nationals wishing to study in Japan.
The scholarships, offered by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), are available for undergraduate and postgraduate studies starting from 2027.
The closing date for applications is Friday 5 June 2026. Written examinations and interviews will be held in person at the Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg on one or two days between Monday 22 June and Wednesday 15 July 2026. Attendance is mandatory.
