Racing Exit Women's Champions League as PSV Reach 3rd Qualifying Round

On Saturday 8 August 2026, Racing FC Union Luxembourg concluded their UEFA Women's Champions League campaign with defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina's SFK Sarajevo in the third-place match of the second qualifying round mini-tournament at the Stade Achille Hammerel in Luxembourg City.

Following the defeat to HJK Helsinki in the opening match, Racing head coach Dylan De Almeida made one change to the starting line-up, with Andreia Machado replacing Kimberley Dos Santos.

The Bosnian champions made the brighter start and pinned Racing back inside their own half. During the opening twenty minutes, Sarajevo created several dangerous chances, with Ajla Zukić striking the crossbar on one occasion.

Racing produced their first real threat in the 25th minute when Lise Michalak was denied by Sarajevo goalkeeper Hana Karačić. Just a minute later, Marta Estevez also came close to breaking the deadlock.

Instead, it was Sarajevo who took the lead shortly before half-time. Ana Barbosa was penalised for a foul on Ajla Zukić inside the penalty area, allowing Dajana Spasojević to convert the resulting spot-kick and put the Bosnia and Herzegovina champions 1-0 ahead.

Sarajevo doubled their advantage three minutes later when Petra Pezelj finished from close range after being set up by Spasojević. Deep into first-half stoppage time, Veronika Terzić added a third goal, once again with Dajana Spasojević providing the assist, giving Sarajevo a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.

Racing responded immediately after the restart, introducing Kimberley Dos Santos in place of captain Julie Wojdyla. The substitution quickly paid off as Dos Santos pulled one goal back in the 58th minute.

However, the Luxembourg champions' hopes of a comeback lasted only four minutes. Dajana Spasojević scored her second goal of the afternoon after being set up by substitute Farah Jusufović, who had entered the match just one minute earlier in place of Ajla Zukić.

The 4-1 scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle, ending Racing's UEFA Women's Champions League campaign.

Later on Saturday, PSV Eindhoven secured the mini-tournament title and a place in the third qualifying round by defeating HJK Helsinki 3-1. Liz Rijsbergen scored a hat-trick for the Dutch champions.
