On Monday 2 March 2026, Médecins Sans Frontières Luxembourg announced the appointment of Paul Yon as its General Director.

In a press release, MSF Luxembourg said that Paul Yon succeeds Thomas Kauffman, who had held the position since September 2022, with effect from Sunday 1 March 2026.

MSF Luxembourg said: “With over twenty years of commitment within the MSF movement, Paul Yon has worked in numerous humanitarian and health contexts across the world, including Asia, the Middle East and Africa. His operational and association experience, as well as his in-depth knowledge of medical-humanitarian issues, will be major assets in supporting MSF Luxembourg during this new phase of its development, as the section celebrates its fortieth anniversary this year.”

Paul Yon said: “From the age of fifteen, I knew I wanted to work with Médecins Sans Frontières. Being part of an organisation that supports populations affected by conflicts, epidemics or natural disasters is both a profound responsibility and a motivation.”

He added: “After difficult months in a crisis context, when a patient thanks the teams for being able to give birth in dignified conditions, we know that our commitment matters. In a world marked by severe inequalities, defending equitable access to healthcare remains a fundamental imperative.”

MSF Luxembourg also announced the appointment of Laura Leyser as International Secretary General of MSF, succeeding Christophe Lockyear.
