On Tuesday 20 October 2026, Luxembourg’s Roads and Bridges Administration announced that, as part of the continuous improvement of road infrastructure, it will renew the road surface at the Lankelz junction of the A4 motorway from Friday 23 October until Monday 26 October 2026.
According to the administration, the works will take place from approximately 20:00 on Friday until around 04:00 on Monday to minimise traffic disruption during the working week.
The following access points will be closed:
- the slip roads from the Lankelz junction onto the A4 motorway towards Luxembourg;
- the exit slip road from the A4 motorway towards Luxembourg to the Lankelz junction;
- the N4D and CR110 from Esch-sur-Alzette towards the Lankelz junction.
Road users travelling from the A13 motorway towards Luxembourg will be diverted from the Lankelz junction via the A4 towards France and the Raemerich interchange.
Road users travelling from Esch-sur-Alzette towards the A4 motorway will be diverted via the N4C, CR170 and CR170A towards the Lallange interchange, or via the N4C, N31 and CR191 towards the Raemerich interchange.
The preparatory works required to put temporary traffic management measures in place will be carried out several hours before the start of the roadworks.
Traffic disruptions are therefore expected from late Friday afternoon.
Additional details of the closures can be found at: CITA – Roadworks.
