On Thursday 2 and Friday 3 July 2026, Luxair, the flag carrier of Luxembourg, inaugurated its new direct routes from Luxembourg Airport in Findel to Helsinki (Finland) and Edinburgh (Scotland, UK), respectively.

According to the airline, both destinations had been among the most frequently requested by passengers over a number of years and have now been added to Luxair's network as part of the carrier's ongoing expansion and fleet renewal programme.

The new Luxembourg-Helsinki route will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, while flights between Luxembourg and Edinburgh will also operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays.

Thomas Fischer, Chief Commercial Officer at Luxair, said: "We are especially pleased to launch Helsinki and Edinburgh because both have been long-discussed and much-requested destinations. They have generated real demand, they are attractive in both directions, and they fit very well with the way we want to grow our network as our fleet renewal gives us new opportunities. With these two new services, we are turning long-standing demand into real new travel options for our passengers."

Luxair marked the launch of both routes with inauguration events in Luxembourg and at the destination airports, attended by airport representatives and invited diplomatic guests.

With the addition of Helsinki and Edinburgh, Luxair said it has now introduced nine new routes in 2026, bringing its network to 101 destinations.
