Luxembourg's National Roads Administration has announced upcoming roadworks on the Croix de Gasperich interchange on the A1 motorway.
In order to continuously improve road infrastructure, the Roads Administration will renew the surface course on the Croix de Gasperich towards Belgium from around 21:00 on Friday 19 September until around 05:00 on Monday 22 September 2025. To limit the impact on weekday traffic, the work will take place over the weekend.
As part of the construction work, access to the Croix de Gasperich towards Belgium from the A1 and A3 motorways will be closed. Diversions will be put in place and indicated by signage.
During these works, the Croix de Gasperich towards Belgium (A1 towards the A6) will be closed. The A3 motorway ramp from Metz will provide access to the A6 motorway towards Belgium.
Motorists wishing to take the A6 towards Belgium will be diverted via the A3 towards Luxembourg City, then via the Gluck roundabout, the A3 towards Metz and finally via the Croix de Gasperich.
However, the Roads Administration has advised motorists to avoid the construction zone by passing through the Croix de Bettembourg to join the A13 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, then continue towards the A4 via the Esch junction towards Luxembourg, before taking the Croix de Cessange to access the A6 towards Belgium.
Preparatory work for the motorway closure will be carried out a few hours before the start of the works. Traffic disruptions are therefore expected from late Friday afternoon.
Details of the closures can be found on the CITA website: https://www.cita.lu/fr/chantiers.html
