The Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg, together with Deutsch-Japanische Gesellschaft (DJG – German Japanese Association) Trier, has announced that Japanese polka band, Charan-Po-Rantan, will perform live in Place d’Armes in Luxembourg-Ville on Wednesday 28 May 2025 at 12:00 and at 14:30.

The band, consisting of sisters Momo on vocals and Koharu on accordion, will play the two free public concerts at the Kiosk stage in Place d’Armes.

The Japanese Embassy has described the band’s music as “a mixture of French chanson and Balkan music combined with various international genres and their colourful circus-like costumes are able to sweep the crowds away”.

In 2024, Momo performed in a popular Japanese song TV show (Kohaku Uta Gassen). The band have also provided a song for the Japanese TV drama "The Full-Time Wife Escapist" and performed at the CinÉast Festival in Luxembourg in 2023.

The Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg and DJG Trier will provide cultural and tourism information for free at the event.
