As of Friday 4 July 2025, registration is officially open for the Luxembourg Song Contest (LSC) 2026, as the search begins for the country's next Eurovision representative.

Artists hoping to perform on the Rockhal stage during the third edition of the LSC can now submit their applications via www.eurovision.lu.

Since Luxembourg's return to Eurovision in 2024, the LSC has served as the national final to select the Luxembourgish representative for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in May.

Artists can directly submit their songs or projects for the LSC auditions. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be of Luxembourgish nationality, or
  • have resided in the Grand Duchy for three consecutive years, or
  • demonstrate a strong connection to the Luxembourg music scene.

They must also be at least eighteen years old by 24 January 2026, be broadly available between November 2025 and May 2026 for LSC / ESC preparation and promotion, and be capable of performing on a large stage.

Each artist may submit up to three songs or projects. The organisers (RTL) noted that the term "project" is interpreted broadly, allowing for diverse musical concepts, including those initiated by DJs or other musicians. Every song must include a live singing component.

Songs / projects must be no longer than three minutes and not have been released or publicly performed before 1 September 2025. They can be in any language but cannot feature more than six performers on stage.

The deadline for audition registration is 21 September 2025 at midnight. Auditions will take place in October 2025 in front of an international jury of Eurovision experts, with the finalists being announced at the end of October.

This year, there is also a team-up opportunity for artists and composers looking to create new musical connections for the LSC / ESC. A team-up list is open for Luxembourgish artists who want to connect with national and / or international songwriters. Likewise, songwriters can register to get in touch with Luxembourgish artists. The deadline for contact list registration is 3 August 2025 at midnight.

Contact information will be shared directly between the registered parties. Contact is established directly between artists and songwriters (RTL will not be involved in this stage). Songs resulting from these new collaborations can be submitted to the auditions by the artist through the regular registration process until 21 September 2025.

Eligible artists may participate in both stages, i.e. an artist who already has songs can also register on the team-up list to connect with new local or / and international songwriters.

The LSC will take place at the Rockhal in Esch-Belval on 24 January 2026. The winner will go on to represent Luxembourg at Eurovision 2026.

In 2025, seven finalists competed in the LSC. The winner, Laura Thorn, represented the Grand Duchy in Basel, Switzerland this past May, with "La Poupée monte le son". The song qualified for the grand final and later placed 22nd overall.

Following JJ's victory with "Wasted Love", the next ESC will be held in Austria in mid-May 2026. The host city and exact dates will be announced in August 2025.
