A brand new play area was officially opened at Parc Merveilleux yesterday, another outcome of the long-standing partnership between the park and Cactus supermarkets.
In between the deer enclosure and the mini-zoo, the new Yuppi play area is designed for small and big kids offering plenty of adventure, climbing, swinging, slides and great views in a natural, leafy environment. At the entrance, a giant wooden Yuppi offers a sweeping slide to welcome kids in.
The idea came about as part of Cactus’ celebrations of its 50th birthday. Indeed, the project is something of a personal victory for public relations manager, Karin Pütz, who came up with the idea.
“We wanted to create something durable,” she said. “Parc Merveilleux is a Luxembourg institution, and one of our most popular destinations. It also represents very strongly our values of community and respect for the environment.”
Marc Neu, managing director of the Parc, welcomed the new initiative from Cactus, which has been supplying the Parc with remaindered fruit and vegetables for 15 years.
