On Monday 12 May 2025, Luxembourg’s national railway company, the CFL, announced the opening of two new Park and Ride (P+R) facilities in Troisvierges and Colmar-Berg.
The CFL reported that the two new parking facilities are intended to service the Luxembourg - Ettelbruck - Troisvierges - Gouvy rail line.
The P+R facilities in Colmar-Berg consist of an open-air car park with 237 spaces for cars, including seven spaces for people with reduced mobility and two spaces equipped with Chargy charging stations for electric cars. The car park also has spaces for motorcycles, features a series of bicycle racks and has a secure bikebox parking facility located on the neighbouring Rue de l'Alzette.
The P+R facilities in Troisvierges consist of a new P+R facility located near the Gare du Nord station. The new facility spans five half-levels and offers 388 parking spaces. These include five spaces for the FLEX car-sharing service, six charging points for electric cars and nine spaces for people with reduced mobility, as well as featuring dynamic guidance showing available spaces. The services at Troisvierges are also integrated into the CFL P+R app and offer 24 hours of free parking when continuing one’s journey by public transport or by walking or cycling within a radius of more than 1.5 km around the P+R.
