On Tuesday 16 September 2025, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) provided an update on the recall of several products from the brand Blédina due to elevated content of aflatoxin B1 (mycotoxins).

The following products have been recalled: 

⁃ Blédine Banana & Milk (from 6 to 36 months)*, 250 g, with the barcode: 3041091606235; use by date: 11/03/2027; 

⁃ Blédine Vanilla Flavour (from 12 months), 400 g, with the barcode: 3041091339973; use by date: 11/09/2026 and 12/09/2026;

⁃ Blédine Honey & Milk (from 6 to 36 months), 250 g, with the barcode: 3041091606280; use by date: 06/03/2027;

⁃ Blédine Biscuit Flavour (from 6 months) 400 g, with the barcode: 3041091339928; use by date: 03/09/2026 & 04/09/2026 & 05/09/2026 & 06/09/2026 & 09/09/2026 & 11/09/2026

⁃ Blédine Biscuit & Milk Flavour (from 6 to 36 months)*, 250 g, with the barcode: 3041091606242; use by date: 05/03/2027 & 06/03/2027

The products have been on sale in various stores across Luxembourg.

There is currently an orange awareness level alert in place (i.e. medium risk/danger).

ALVA warned that aflatoxins are considered genotoxic and carcinogenic by the European Food Safety Authority and can be dangerous if consumed repeatedly at high levels.
