On Wednesday 13 May 2026, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) announced the recall of free-range and ground-range eggs from the brands Economy and Everyday due to the possible presence of salmonella.

The following products have been recalled:

⁃ Economy Brown eggs from free-range hens (L - 30 eggs) with stamped codes 2-BE-1073-01; 2-BE-1073-03; 2-BE-1073-04; Lot numbers 30635 and 30629; use by dates ranging from 06/05/2026 to 29/05/2026 inclusive; the product was sold between 15/04/2026 and 12/05/2026

⁃ Everyday Eggs from ground-range hens (M - 12 eggs) with stamped codes 2-BE-1073-01; 2-BE-1073-03; 2-BE-1073-04; Lot numbers 30635 and 30629; use by dates ranging from 06/05/2026 - 29/05/2026; the product was sold between 15/04/2026 - 12/05/2026

ALVA noted that salmonella can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, fever and headache within six to 72 hours after consumption. These symptoms may be aggravated in young children, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly. People who have consumed the aforementioned products and display such symptoms are invited to consult a doctor.
