On Saturday 6 June 2026, the seventeenth edition of the Nuit du Sport (Sports Night), coordinated by the National Youth Service (Service national de la jeunesse - SNJ) and Luxembourg's Ministry of Sport, attracted around 21,000 participants across 56 municipalities throughout the Grand Duchy.

According to the organisers, this year's edition set a record for municipal participation, with 56 municipalities and local organisers offering an evening programme of original sporting activities. More than 150 different sports and workshops were organised by youth centres, associations, sports clubs, childcare facilities and municipal services.

Activities ranged from American football and squash to pilates, karate and stand-up paddleboarding, providing participants with opportunities to discover new sports in a friendly and festive atmosphere.

The organisers noted that the Nuit du Sport places particular emphasis on originality, inclusion and intergenerational participation. People of all backgrounds, regardless of age, nationality, social status or physical ability, were encouraged to take part and experience the benefits of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

The 2026 edition took place in municipalities across Luxembourg, including Luxembourg City, Esch-sur-Alzette, Differdange, Echternach, Grevenmacher, Mersch, Mondorf-les-Bains, Pétange, Remich, Schifflange, Strassen, Wiltz and Wormeldange, among others.
