On Saturday 31 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported receiving more than 40 reports of noise disturbances, disputes and public nuisance incidents across Luxembourg during the previous evening and night.
According to the police, most situations had already calmed down by the time officers arrived or were resolved at the scene.
In Roodt-sur-Syre, police received reports of several young people setting off firecrackers on school grounds along Route de Luxembourg. Officers located the individuals and confiscated the firecrackers and an illegal knife, as well as drawn up a report.
In a separate incident shortly after 21:00, police received a report of a dispute between a taxi driver and a customer on Route de Mamer in Holzem. According to initial findings, the disagreement concerned the fare, after which the customer allegedly attempted to steal from the driver.
Officers located the intoxicated customer, who was reportedly confrontational from the outset and attempted to leave the scene. When an officer prevented him from leaving, the individual attempted to push the officer away and had to be restrained.
Following a medical examination, police placed the individual in custody to sober up.
