On Friday 13 February 2026, Luxair confirmed that operational constraints affecting the availability of several Boeing aircraft, combined with the temporary closure of the Luxembourg airport runway, led to the cancellation of two flights.

According to the airline, the cancellations resulted from delays in external maintenance and service processes carried out by third-party providers, which have affected the availability of several Boeing 737 aircraft. This, combined with a temporary runway closure in Luxembourg that afternoon, led to the cancellation of scheduled flights to Sal (LG 371) and Rome (LG 6555) planned for the evening of Friday 13 February.

Luxair said it had informed the affected passengers and LuxairTours teams had actively assisted customers and offered appropriate rebooking solutions and support.

Luxair apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked its passengers for their understanding, while taking all necessary steps to limit the impact of these disruptions.

In view of the temporary aircraft availability constraints and ahead of a busy travel weekend, Luxair said it has secured additional aircraft capacity to safeguard the continuity of its flight programme by entering into an agreement with Danish Air Transport (DAT) for the temporary lease of one Airbus A320 to support operations on behalf of Luxair over the coming days.

DAT is a European airline and provider of charter and ACMI services, holding all required certifications, including IOSA certification.
