Yesterday, Monday 15 February, marked the start of the 2020/21 summer semester at the University of Luxembourg.
In light of the current health context, the University of Luxembourg has returned to hybrid teaching for the start of the new semester. Small groups of students are permitted to attend in-person classes and laboratory work, while large groups are being taught remotely.
In the context of the circulation of more highly infectious COVID-19 variants, the University of Luxembourg noted that students and staff should be prepared to revert to remote teaching at very short notice if required.
The university confirmed that the return to hybrid mode is accompanied by tightened security and safety measures. Masks must be worn by all at all times in classrooms, as well as by staff members in shared offices when another person is present. Given the more infectious new strands of the virus, the university has recommended the use of surgical masks.
The summer semester runs from Monday 15 February to Sunday 19 September 2021.
