On Thursday 8 October 2026, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Luxembourg announced that it has been named “Bank of the Year” by the Luxembourg Financial Markets Association (LFMA), as the Bank marks its 50th anniversary in the Grand Duchy.

According to the bank, it received the award during the Forward Financial Thinking Forum, where LFMA highlighted three aspects behind the recognition: the Bank’s five decades of presence and commitment to Luxembourg; its designation since January 2026 as one of only six Other Systemically Important Institutions among approximately 115 banks operating in the country; and its contribution to financing the European economy.

Massimo Torchiana, Managing Director and CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Luxembourg, said: “Receiving this recognition in the year of our 50th anniversary has particular significance for us. Over five decades, we have built a strong business in Luxembourg, developed deep relationships with our clients and partners, and continued to broaden our capabilities as their needs have become complex. This recognition is also a tribute to the expertise and commitment of our people and to the role Luxembourg continues to play in our development.”

Established in 1976, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Luxembourg has developed alongside Luxembourg’s growth as an international financial centre. The bank forms part of Intesa Sanpaolo’s IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, which operates across 23 countries, and provides corporate banking, structured finance and capital markets services to international companies and institutional clients.

As of 30 June 2026, the bank held total assets of €34.5 billion. Between 2022 and 2025, its total assets increased by 89.5%, while operating income rose by 92%, reaching €338.5 in 2025.

The bank also issues securities under a €70 billion Euro Medium Term Note programme listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and participates in Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s €30 billion Euro Commercial Paper programme.
