On Monday 2 November 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Culture announced the nominees for the 2026 Lëtzebuerger Musekspräisser (Luxembourg Music Awards).

According to the ministry, for this third edition, the awards will be presented in eight categories, including the National Music Award (“Nationale Musekspräis”), worth €10,000, which will be awarded to an artist from the sector in recognition of their overall career, body of work and commitment to Luxembourgish music.

In the other categories, the awards recognise outstanding productions from the past two years. Eligible candidates include individuals and personalities active in Luxembourg’s music sector who are of Luxembourgish nationality, residents of the country or have strong cultural ties to Luxembourg.

The selection of these projects takes place in a two-stage process. For the first round, 84 music professionals were invited to submit their personal favourites from the past two years in each eligible category. Based on these nominations, the shortlists below were drawn up, featuring the five most frequently nominated artists in each category.

Among the new features of the 2026 Lëtzebuerger Musekspräisser is the introduction of a new award entitled “Beschte/n Komponist/in” (Best Composer). This expands the scope of the national awards by also recognising the recent creative work of a Luxembourgish male or female composer. Beyond composers in the traditional sense, the category also encompasses creators of distinctive sound identities. The award is worth €3,500.
