The Luxembourg School of Business (LSB) will host Nobel Laureate Joel Mokyr for a keynote address and panel discussion titled “The Past and Future of Sustainable Economic Growth”.
The event will take place on Thursday 9 July 2026 at Le Royal Hotel Luxembourg in Luxembourg-Ville from 18:00 to 21:00 and is expected to bring together senior business leaders, policymakers and members of the academic community from across Luxembourg and the Greater Region.
According to the organisers, Professor Joel Mokyr's lecture will explore the relationship between economic prosperity and technological innovation, strong institutions and open economies.
The event will also mark the inauguration of Joel Mokyr as the first patron of the newly established LSB - KU Leuven Doctoral Programme (PhD in Business Administration). The patronage will be conferred by Professor Patrick Vanhoudt, Dean of LSB, and Professor Kristof De Witte of KU Leuven.
Luxembourg's Minister of Labour, Marc Spautz is also scheduled to deliver opening remarks before the keynote lecture.
