Pirate Productions will stage The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical at the Kinneksbond cultural centre in Mamer from Thursday 13 to Sunday 16 November 2025.
According to the producers, the show is a playful, self-aware retelling of the first Percy Jackson novel by Rick Riordan; the score blends folk, soul and rock, with a number of heartfelt ballads. The book is also being adapted as a Disney+ series.
When teenager Percy Jackson discovers he is actually a demigod - the son of Poseidon no less - his world flips upside down. Accused of stealing Zeus' lightning bolt, Percy embarks on a thrilling cross-country quest with his friends Annabeth and Grover to clear his name and prevent an all-out war among the gods. Packed with high-energy songs, laugh-out-loud moments and heart, The Lightning Thief is described as a bold, electric journey into a world where being different is your greatest strength.
