On Tuesday 28 October 2025, Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg announced that the jury had shortlisted three projects for the second round for the design of the Luxembourg Pavilion at the 20th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia 2027.

According to Kultur | lx, after numerous discussions, the jury selected three finalists from eleven submissions. The committee chose projects whose themes revolved around issues related to both Luxembourg’s territory and global challenges, aligning with the exhibition’s guidelines.

The three selected projects convinced the jury with the “rigour”, “relevance” and “quality” of their approach, as well as the original approach of the themes explored. The selected curatorial teams are:

  • Céline Zimmer, Paul-Antoine Lucas and Bui Quy Son;
  • Joëlle Martin, Brunno Douat and George Papam Papamattheakis;
  • Gubbini Steffen x Thing.

The jury included curators of the Luxembourg 2025 Pavilion, Valentin Bansac, Mike Fritsch and Alice Loumeau, as well as: Maribel Casas, Director of the Luxembourg Center for Architecture (LUCA); Aslı Çiçek, architect and associate professor at Hasselt University’s Faculty of Architecture and Arts; Sophie Dars, architect, professor and co-founder of Accattone magazine; Michelle Friederici, President of the Luxembourg Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers; Claudine Hemmer, Visual Arts and Architecture Advisor at Luxembourg’s Ministry of Culture; Pamela Medina Lopez, Project Manager for Biennales, Festivals and Fairs at Kultur | lx - Arts Council Luxembourg; and Eléonore Mialonier, Project Manager for Architecture, Design and Crafts at Kultur | lx - Arts Council Luxembourg.

The deadline for submitting applications for the second round is Wednesday 10 December 2025, and the winning project will be announced on Friday 23 January 2026.
