On Saturday 7 November 2026, Luxembourg's men's basketball teams opened Game Day 8 of the 2026/27 Enovos League regular season with four matches across the Grand Duchy.
AS Soleuvre stun Amicale Steinsel
The biggest surprise of the evening came in Steinsel, where newly promoted AS Soleuvre defeated hosts Amicale Steinsel 77-70. The home side trailed by eight points after the opening quarter but recovered to take a narrow 41-40 lead into half-time, with Landon Seaman and Conley Phipps contributing ten and nine points respectively.
However, an eighteen-point run by Soleuvre in the third quarter shifted the momentum firmly in the visitors' favour and proved decisive. Gerald Drumgoole led Soleuvre with 23 points, followed by Sandro Sanchez with 22, while Christian Parker recorded a double-double with 20 points and sixteen rebounds.
Arantia Larochette dominate Basket Esch
Meanwhile, Arantia Larochette claimed a convincing 96-53 away victory over Basket Esch in a meeting between the current Luxembourg Cup holders and the 2025 winners.
The hosts entered the game without key players Clancy Rugg and Quinten Nelson. Arantia centre Tyrell Sturdivant scored ten points in the opening quarter, helping the visitors establish a ten-point advantage. The gap continued to grow throughout the match, despite Basket Esch head coach Franck Meriguet's attempts to disrupt the visitors' rhythm with time-outs.
Basket Esch struggled with shooting accuracy, while Daniel De Sousa's team controlled the rebounding battle and secured their sixth victory of the season, leaving the hosts with four defeats.
Speaking to Chronicle.lu after the game, Arantia head coach Daniel De Sousa highlighted his team's defensive performance: "I think we made it easier than what it's supposed to be because Esch is a good team. They have very good players. They have a lot of experience. And today we really had to work hard to take the win."
Four Arantia players reached double figures, with captain Derek Wilson leading all scorers on 21 points and Joshua McClary adding twenty. Edson De Sousa Silva also recorded a double-double with fifteen points and fourteen rebounds.
Discussing his squad and the team's ambitions for the season, Daniel De Sousa explained that Arantia aimed to finish in the top four and secure home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. He added: "I'm very happy with my roster. They work very hard. The younger players are getting better. We won six games. We lost two games, one in overtime and one in the last full possession. We could be 8-0."
Elsewhere, T71 Dudelange maintained their place among the top three with a comfortable 88-50 away victory over Racing Luxembourg. Kordall Steelers also celebrated a home win, edging Musel Pikes 85-80.
