The Maison du Grand-Duc has announced that Grand Duke Guillaume, accompanied by Grand Duchess Stéphanie, will attend the 22nd Informal Meeting of the Heads of State of German-speaking Countries in Innsbruck, Austria, on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 September 2026.
According to the Maison du Grand-Duc, this will mark Grand Duke Guillaume's first participation in the meeting in his capacity as Luxembourg's Head of State.
Organised this year at the invitation of the Federal President of the Republic of Austria, the meeting will bring together the Heads of State of Germany, Austria, Belgium, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
The discussions will address the "main current issues as well as the political, economic and societal challenges shared by the participating countries".
As part of the programme, the Heads of State will also travel to Alpbach, where they will hold an exchange on the future of Europe on the sidelines of the European Forum Alpbach (EFA).
