On Friday 6 March 2026, the Clausen Art Gallery in Luxembourg-Clausen hosted the opening of its inaugural exhibition “Stamps, Banknotes & Coins”.

The exhibition, curated by gallery owner Lawrence Kotarba, features various collections of Luxembourgish currency, postcards, postage stamps, artworks and other memorabilia from across the decades.

The collections consist of items from Lawrence Kotarba’s personal collections as well as a variety of pieces from local private collectors. Tastefully displayed in frames provided by members of the community, each display offers a unique window into Luxembourg’s history, including pre-Euro Luxembourg Francs, commemorative coins and postcards which depict various members of the Grand Ducal family, anniversary celebrations, landscapes and other cultural symbols from the 1950s up to modern day.

Lawrence Kotarba addressed the attendees in a speech and thanked them for their support, and talked of his first stamp album he compiled in the 1970s, his life journey from Poland to Luxembourg and the origins of the gallery as a way of expressing his gratitude to Luxembourg.

“Luxembourg has given me so much security, inspiration and a sense of belonging. It is in such an environment that creative ideas can flourish. This gallery is for me a simple act of gratitude and the beginning of something that I hope will keep growing,” he said.

“Tonight marks the opening of the Clausen Art Gallery and our very first exhibition. It is both a celebration and a thank you to Luxembourg, to all who contributed and to everyone who believes that even small cultural projects can grow into something meaningful.”

The opening event saw around 30 people in attendance, including artists and collectors involved in the project. Food and refreshments were provided by the host.

The exhibition is open from 14:00 to 19:00 on Saturday 7 and Saturday 14 March.

Entry is free.
