
The Grand Ducal Police have reported the confiscation of several driving licences due to positive results from alcohol tests administered on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 September 2025.
According to the initial report, on the afternoon of Wednesday 3 September 2025, the police received a report of a dangerous driver. A patrol soon located the driver and during the stop the officers observed clear signs of alcohol consumption. An alcohol test returned a positive result and the officers confiscated the driver’s licence.
During the early hours of Thursday 4 September 2025, the police received a report about a vehicle which had crashed into a roadside ditch on the route between Dippach and Mamer. When the police and rescue services arrived, the vehicle drove off. The officers immediately pursued it and stopped the driver a short time later. The woman behind the wheel showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. An alcohol test was undertaken and came back positive. The officers imposed a provisional driving ban and filed a report.
Also in the early hours of Thursday 4 September 2025, the police were informed of a traffic accident on the Route de Longwy in Rodange. A vehicle had hit several parked cars. A police patrol reached the scene and found the driver. He showed obvious signs of alcohol consumption but refused to take an alcohol test. The officers issued a provisional driving ban and took the driver to hospital for a check-up.
