The Grand Ducal Police have reported that in the early hours of Saturday 6 December 2025, two drivers tested positive for alcohol and had their licences revoked.

At approximately 03:00 on Saturday, a police patrol noticed a vehicle on Route de Luxembourg in Dudelange with a faulty dipped headlight on the passenger side and a broken rear light on the driver’s side. The officers followed the vehicle and located it in a supermarket car park. When they checked the driver, they observed clear signs of alcohol consumption and administered a breath test, which confirmed alcohol use. The police revoked the driver’s licence on the spot.

Earlier that night, at approximately 00:00, a police patrol noticed a vehicle travelling at excessive speed and being driven erratically on the road between Capellen and Mamer. The officers stopped the vehicle shortly afterwards. Because of the driver’s dangerous behaviour, they administered a breath test which returned a positive result. The police also revoked this driver’s licence.
