The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Friday 30 January 2026, a police check involving a drug detection dog was carried out at Ettelbruck railway station.
According to the police, the operation took place at around 19:00, during which the sniffer dog alerted to two passers-by. Both individuals were subsequently checked. A small quantity of hashish was found on one of them, while several pellets of hashish and cash were discovered on the other.
Further measures were taken in relation to the latter individual, including a house search, during which police seized an additional small quantity of hashish, a mobile phone and drug-related items.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge in the morning on Saturday 31 January 2026. The drugs, cash, mobile phone and drug paraphernalia were seized as part of the investigation.
The other passer-by was reported and was able to leave the police station after the formal procedures were completed.
