The Grand Ducal Police have reported that two driving bans were issued and one arrest was made in relation to various road traffic offences committed between Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February 2026.

According to the initial information, on Saturday 31 January, a caller reported a vehicle breakdown in Cents due to a clutch defect. When a tow truck arrived on site, it became apparent that the driver did not intend to pay the towing costs.

Following checks at the scene, the police discovered that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, a review revealed a positive alert regarding an existing driving ban with several restrictions. Consequently, the Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the seizure of the vehicle and the arrest of the driver.

On the afternoon of Sunday 1 February, a driver suspected of being under the influence of alcohol was reported after reportedly hitting several posts at the junction of Route de Trèves and Rue de Senningerberg in Niederanven and coming to a stop there.

A police patrol was able to locate the driver, who showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. A breath test was administered by the officers and returned a positive result. A provisional driving ban was issued.

Later that evening, a man suspected of being intoxicated was reported in a café in Grevenmacher as he approached his vehicle in a car park. When he drove off towards Place du Marché, he was stopped by a police patrol. The on-site alcohol test returned a positive result and a provisional driving ban was imposed.
