Luxembourg's Ministry of Home Affairs and the Water Management Agency (AGE) have confirmed that a "LU-Alert" test SMS message was sent out on Monday morning.
On Monday 2 February 2026, the government continued the implementation of its strategy for testing the "LU-Alert" public warning and information system with the monthly test of the siren network.
Moreover, the authorities tested the geolocated SMS alert channel starting at 10:00 in the north of the country. Following previous tests carried out by other public authorities, the AGE sent a test message via geolocated SMS. The test message was also sent out via the "LU-Alert" mobile application and the website www.lu-alert.lu.
For test alerts, there is no need to act or adopt any particular action.
The authorities recalled that all mobile devices connected to a Luxembourg mobile network antenna within the affected area at the time the geolocated SMS test message is sent are targeted.
Further information and a FAQ section are also available on the LU-Alert website.
