The Grand Ducal Police have reported the arrest of four suspects at the Aire de Capellen service station in connection with a kidnapping in Belgium.
In the early hours of Monday 2 February 2026, Luxembourg police were informed by their Belgian counterparts of the abduction of a man near Antwerp and that the getaway vehicle was now in the border region. Shortly afterward, Luxembourg officers located the vehicle, along with the victim and the suspects, at Aire de Capellen.
Initial information indicates that the victim and one of the suspects knew each other.
On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the four suspects were arrested and were scheduled to appear before an investigating judge on Monday afternoon.
